MARY WARD

Mary Ward’s personal vocation was to make an active, apostolic response to the needs of her time. Her vision was grounded in those values dear to her: freedom of spirit, sincerity in communication, personal integrity, a discriminating attitude to truth and a cheerful disposition.
In this spirit, Loreto Nedlands has maintained a proud tradition of the interaction of students and committed staff who reflect on their society in the light of Gospel values and transmit the resulting vision and challenge to the student body.
Our aim today, therefore, is to produce articulate, confident young people with a strong sense of social justice and of the rightful position of each person in society and the church.
Our hope is that our students, on graduation will have become:
- People of prayer and faith
- People of learning who will search for truth throughout life
- People of hope who will walk confidently into the 21st century
- People of conviction and compassion committed to critical reflection on the world
- People of integrity
- People of high self-esteem who use their gifts for the service of others
In the spirit of Mary Ward, Loreto Nedlands provides
-
A nurturing environment enabling each student to strive for personal excellence in a broad range of educational disciplines
- Opportunities for development in the large number of co-curricular areas in which the school has traditionally excelled
- Opportunities for growth in self-esteem, leadership and a responsible social conscience
- A vibrant liturgical life integrating the creative arts while encouraging participation and leadership in worship.
